It’s important to us to build this community inside and outside of the gym. Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a great time and special thanks to Neda for coaching us on how to safely tie in and belay each other.

It’s been a while since our last outing, and being that it was Halloween, AND being that my wife and I were celebrating our first anniversary, we took a break from the gym and headed out to City Beach for some Rock Climbing and recreation with any TracFitter that wanted to join us.
It was a nice reminder of how much grip strength you need for just holding onto the rock surfaces. Besides the grip issues, I think CrossFit does well in preparing athletes to move better on the wall as well as having the coordination, confidence, and conditioning to keep at it.

When I sent out the workout of the day email, I wasn’t kidding when I said we were going to do Truck push races. I am a fan of things that work, and “moving large loads, long distances, quickly”, works.
Challenges are just a part of daily life. The truck push challenged everyone yesterday, especially after some of their quads were already burned out from “Barbara” the other day. Simple, effective, fun, hard…that’s a good day in my book.

Part of the CrossFit prescription is to regularly go out and learn new sports. Well, we definitely went out all right. But, we also introduced a few to their first indoor rock climbing experience. We workout hard, we play hard, and we support one another. What more can I ask for?

Yesterday, Trac247 got out of the gym and went vertical. What good is building strength, power, flexibility, endurance, stamina, speed, accuracy, coordination, agility, and balance if you can’t apply it outside the gym? Part of our prescription to working out is going out and learning new sports.
This week, we hit up the rock climbing wall at City Beach in Fremont. It was truly a humbling experience. We are hooked and will be looking to build our climbing skills as quickly as possible, because that wall kicked our butts yesterday!
